Summary
A person at this level is responsible for emphasizing the team as leaders in concrete, managing field staff, implementing Kent Companies' safety manual, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, and quality/workmanship over multiple projects to ensure a safe and profitable project while keeping a keen eye open for repeat business and future opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact with site safety representatives (SSRs) to review monthly safety trends and inspection information.
  • Monitor, support, and enforce Kent Companies’ safety policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in creating and implementing quality control & quality assurance standards.
  • Effectively communicate with all team members.
  • Participate in creating subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Continually grow technical and administrative skills.
  • Develop a project logistics plan that includes staging, pumping, and other general conditions for each project.
  • Collaborate with the project and operations managers to resolve variances from established budgets and schedules.
  • Responsible for managing multiple jobs and multiple field superintendents.
  • Manage the ExakTime process with the superintendents (ensure time is accurate and submitted on time every week).
  • Drive & motivate superintendents to deliver safe, profitable, and quality projects on or ahead of schedule.
  • Work with crews to help promote positive encouragement, motivation, and leadership to help them grow within the company.
  • Guide the professional development of superintendents & assistant superintendents.
  • Lead and develop the field team in conjunction with the operations manager.
  • Effectively manage, train, and mentor all superintendents and assistant superintendents.
  • Work with field superintendents to accommodate job site needs.
  • Assist superintendents with weekly look-ahead schedules.
  • Support all field operations.
  • Participate in monthly financial planning & forecasting with the project manager and operations manager.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the job budget.
  • Control and provide project progress to the project management & the operations manager.
  • Actively participate in recruiting and hiring of field supervision.
  • Understand and manage the strengths and weaknesses of field team members to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate Kent Companies’ culture and core values daily.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of field coordination or relevant commercial construction project experience
  • General problem-solving/conflict resolution skills.
  • Understand basic project financial information (monthly cost projections, labor cost reports, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving (for any driver)
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Experience, Education, and Experience
10+ years of experience working in construction as a concrete contractor.
