Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Wine Retail Manager to lead the operations at our Arsenal Yard Watertown locations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the beverage industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving sales and delivering excellent customer service. As the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily store operations, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, and achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Store Operations:
    • Oversee daily operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Ensure the store is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
    • Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking products.
    • Monitor and manage store expenses, including labor costs, utilities, and supplies.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment for both employees and customers.
  • Staff Management:
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of sales associates.
    • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees to improve performance.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
    • Handle employee relations issues, including performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure all customers receive exceptional service and a personalized shopping experience.
    • Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely manner.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Promote and educate customers on new products, seasonal offerings, and promotions.
  • Sales and Marketing:
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets by implementing effective sales strategies.
    • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
    • Coordinate and execute in-store events, tastings, and promotions to drive traffic and sales.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement local marketing initiatives.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all state and local liquor laws, including age verification and responsible selling practices.
    • Maintain accurate records for inventory, sales, and cash handling.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Manager, preferably in the liquor or beverage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and beers, including industry trends and product knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Equivalent work experience in retail management will be considered.
